The higher your muscle mass the more calories you will burn. That is why as we age, we want to get to the gym for regular weight training. You don't need to be a body builder, just lift weights. Muscle burns more calories that fat. I suggest you use the guidance of a trainer.Did you know that the heavier you are, the faster you metabolism is probably going. The more fat you are carrying, the harder your body has to work to maintain itself. Also very heavy people are likely to lose more weight and faster at the beginning of a diet. Their metabolism is running faster and they cut calories.There are some things you can do to enhance you metabolism exercise and eat more. There are claims about certain foods speeding up the metabolism.We need to keep moving, our bodies. We may have desk jobs. We drive to work and try and get the closest parking spot. We drive through fast food places, the bank, and the coffee shop. We come home to sit and watch TV. To make matters worse, our food portions are much more that they were 30 years ago. My advice, move your body. Exercise 3-4 times a week. Start out by walking 20 minutes a day. Then you can add weight training 2-3 times a week. Park in the back parking lot and walk. Get out of your car and walk into the bank, the fast food restaurant and coffee shop.
